When leave cover is requiredAfter the transition to Shared Services all Service Managers have to take into consideration their daily annual leave quota when accepting leave requests from Support Workers:
- Service Managers accept the leave application after discussing leave with staff and consulting the leave quota.
- Shared Services confirms that the application is within the quota, approves the leave, records the change on the schedule and covers the vacant shift.
Note: Applications which exceed the quota can be approved only in exceptional circumstances.
When leave cover is not requiredIn some services (e.g. Home Support) staff can apply for leave without the need to find coverage:
- Service Managers accept the leave application after discussing leave with staff.
- The leave application on IHC Staff has to include the following note: No cover required. This means that the leave application won’t be counted against the leave quota.
- Shared Services approves the leave and records the change on the schedule.
